Quiet Pleasures Jewelry

Lauren Pollaro

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Lauren comes from a family of accomplished artists. She earned her degree in Fine Art from the University of New Hampshire and soon after graduating became involved in the graphic arts as an art director for several magazines. Lauren has been working as a jewelry artist for over twenty years, evolving to include wall sculpture in the past ten years. During that time, she has honed her technical skills and fulfilled interests in new techniques through courses and workshops. She has been honored with numerous gallery exhibitions, museum representation and awards of merit. Her work has been featured in publications such as Jewelry Artist Magazine, Artscope Magazine, New England Crafts Connoisseur, Art New England and the Boston Globe.

At Quiet Pleasures, we are happy to bring in a nice representation of Lauren's paper collage pieces, each piece one-of-a-kind or limited edition. In Lauren's words, her "motifs are inspired by the relationships between color, texture and shape. Also influential are designs from other cultures such as Japanese, African and Native American." All pieces are designed and created in Lauren's studio in Southern Maine. Finished with an acrylic varnish, the pieces are waterproof and durable.
